The Southport Songwriter Festival (S2f) is a featured event of the ScreenDoor Songwriter Alliance (S2a) a non-profit (501c3) whose mission is to create ways to use songwriting to bridge the differences between people and build community, and to support songwriters and songwriting as art and profession. We celebrate local, regional, and national songwriters and original music by providing educational workshops and events for songwriters, and to promote the arts, businesses, and amenities of the unique coastal village of Southport, NC.

Known as a pioneer for songwriters, Louisa Branscomb has devoted the past 30 plus years of her professional career to promoting songwriters and building community through songwriting and original music. As a professional songwriter Louisa has penned over 180 recorded songs. She has been the recipient of two Grammy Awards, two Song of the Year Awards (Steel Rails, as recorded by Alison Krauss, and Dear Sister, recorded by co-writer Claire Lynch.) and three World of Bluegrass Awards. Her passion for “Building Community One Song at a Time” is directly reflected in the many events of The Southport Songwriter Festival.
